About Us
Why Rural?
From the very beginning, God’s mission was expansive.
In Genesis 1:28, He blessed humanity and commanded them to “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.” That wasn’t just about population growth, but the spread of God’s image and His glory into every corner of creation.
Later, in Matthew 28:18–20, Jesus rephrases this call: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” The movement of God’s people has always been outward the sake of His name!
In recent decades, the church has rightly focused on reaching the cities. Urban centers are influential, strategic, and densely populated. That investment has been wise and fruitful.
But along the way, we’ve lost sight of the rest of the map.
While attention and resources flowed toward population centers, rural communities were quietly unraveling. Pastors burned out. Churches closed. And the next generation disappeared.
Today, in many rural towns, you’re far more likely to find a Dollar General, a bar, or a closed-down church than a vibrant gospel-preaching congregation.
But that’s exactly why we’re here.
We believe a focus on rurality is worth recovering, not because rural life is idyllic, but because God’s glory should be seen from every place.
Psalm 72:19 says, “Blessed be His glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with His glory.”
Habakkuk 2:14 points to the day when the knowledge of that glory will cover the earth “as the waters cover the sea.”
And Ephesians 3:10 reminds us that through the church the manifold wisdom of God is made known to the heavenly realms.
Rural places matter.
God’s glory deserves to be seen in every square mile.
Our Mission
We exist to equip the saints to lead healthy churches in rural places.
We do this by training pastors, strengthening leadership teams, and supporting churches with biblical clarity and practical help.
Our Focus
Strategic Training & Resources
We are committed to equipping men to lead healthy rural churches by providing training and resources in four key areas.
-
Many churches are filled with men and women who have not rightly understood the gospel. We want to help rural churches regain a proper understanding of the Biblical gospel. Churches and Christians who are gripped by the gospel will respond earnestly to the call to proclaim Christ in their circle of accountability. It is our goal to help believers work together to saturate a region with the gospel so that every man, woman, and child in a given geography has repeated opportunities to hear and respond to the gospel.
-
Pastors and the churches they lead often overlook the importance of long pastoral tenure. One of the reasons for short pastorates is the neglect of pastoral health. We desire to help men in ministry maintain intimacy with God, rhythms of rest, mentoring relationships, strong family leadership, and Biblically informed longings. We further aim to ensure that pastors are compensated in a way that enables them to thrive in ministry.
-
One of the greatest challenges rural churches face is a lack of qualified leaders. We help churches recover the Biblical standard for church leadership while focusing on the development of a plurality of qualified elders and deacons who equip the saints, train the next generation, and nurture a unified congregation.
-
God has provided everything we need through His Word, which is alive, active, and powerful! Many well meaning Christians and churches have exchanged a mere confidence in God's Word for a more pragmatic approach. We aim to help foster reliance on God's Word by helping churches cultivate a culture of discipling, a regular diet of expository preaching, the practice of Biblical counseling, and the pursuit of faithfulness rather than visible results.

The Inspiration: David Brainerd
David Brainerd’s life was not defined by comfort or fame, but by faithfulness.
In 1742, Brainerd was expelled from Yale over a careless remark. Though he repented, he was barred from traditional pastoral ministry in New England. But God used that closed door to send him somewhere else—to the middle of nowhere!
Brainerd spent the last years of his life preaching Christ among Native American tribes in the rural regions of New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
He battled sickness, isolation, and hardship. But he didn’t quit. He preached. He prayed. He wept. And God used him to bring many to faith and to plant churches in places few others were willing to go.
Brainerd died young, but his legacy lived on thanks to the publication of his journals by Jonathan Edwards, which have inspired missionaries and pastors for generations.
His passion?
That Christ would be known, no matter the cost, in places the world forgets.
We share that passion.
We don’t want to talk about rural ministry. We want to see it flourish for the glory of God and the good of His church.
